The recent attacks on Israel were horrific, barbaric, and the definition of evil. The world must unequivocally condemn these acts of violence and stand with Israel as it defends itself against terrorist threats. There is no justification for the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians, and we must support Israel’s efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism and the massacre of its people.

I’ve seen the vitriol online against Jews from people all around the world, and it has been shocking, to say the least. We have not only lived through the trauma of the recent attacks and the brutal, merciless actions inflicted on our people but little did we know that we’d have to endure the justification of their behavior from people all over the world. The entire Jewish community has been appalled by those who have come out in defense of Hamas and its behavior. There should never be an excuse for acts as heinous and evil as this – there is no defense in the beheading of children and the cold murder of unarmed civilians.

It’s important for those demonstrating in the streets to ask themselves, “What and who am I defending?” As a society, polarity has become where we seek comfort. Instead, we should question everything rather than resort to unconditional loyalty to our respective sides. Israel and its citizens have done this time and time again. People who fail to be critical of themselves are lost, and in this instance, those who fail to be critical of Hamas and their actions have only shown the world that they have closed their eyes to the horror of this day.

Over the years, the international community has invested billions of dollars in humanitarian aid to provide food, clean water, education, and healthcare for the Palestinian people. Tragically, much of this aid has been misused by Hamas and its affiliates to create munitions intended to attack, maim, and kill innocent Israelis. That is a grave betrayal of the trust placed in humanitarian assistance. The world cannot and must not tolerate terrorism, and we must stand firmly behind Israel in its quest to protect its citizens.

The Palestinian people deserve to be represented fairly, not by a terrorist regime. The fact is that Israeli soldiers and government leaders care more about protecting the lives of innocent Palestinians than Hamas does.

It is crucial to emphasize that there is no moral or ethical equivalency between Israel and the terrorists. Israel is a thriving democracy that upholds human rights and the rule of law. The IDF drops leaflets, hacks TV screens, and sends text messages to civilians warning them of impending danger. Conversely, Hamas deliberately installs its munitions warehouses and headquarters in highly dense civilian areas like apartment buildings, schools, and hospitals – and shamefully uses hostages (including Americans) as human shields.

There is no excuse, equivalency, or justification for the indiscriminate killing of innocent people. Terrorism is a cowardly act that targets the most vulnerable in society and represents a crime against humanity.

The Hamas terrorist group is an extremist entity dedicated to a single mission – the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews, as specified in its charter. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel to help it defend itself – and rid the world of the scourge of terrorism.

Throughout the last 75 years, there have been many attempts by Israel and the United States to pursue a more sustainable and equitable solution, but to no avail. The Hamas position regarding Israel has been one that promotes no negotiation, no recognition, and no peace.

Like any sovereign nation, Israel has the inherent right to exist in peace and security. We must actively support Israel in achieving this fundamental goal. The recent attacks serve as a stark reminder of the urgency to eliminate the possibility of such heinous atrocities. There is simply no excuse for the torture and killing of innocent people, and Israel must do everything in its power to prevent such events from happening again.

The coming days will be dangerous, but a necessary step in the future safety of Israel and the world.
