Nevada has always been a shining example of what makes America great. The state’s strength lies in its diversity — where Blacks, Latinos, Asian-Americans and Caucasians live and work side by side, united by shared values of faith, family and freedom. Today, these values are under attack. Kamala Harris and the Biden administration’s radical agenda threaten our way of life, and it’s time for freedom-loving Nevadans of all backgrounds to take a stand.

Harris is not just a political figure on the sidelines. She is in power, and her failures have real consequences. As the administration’s “border czar,” Harris was tasked with addressing the border crisis — a crisis that deepened under her watch. Illegal crossings have soared to record numbers, bringing with them a surge in crime, human trafficking, and drugs that spill over into states like Nevada.

Our communities, particularly in cities like Las Vegas, feel the effect every day, with rising crime rates and a growing sense of insecurity. Recently, Kurt Englehart, a senior adviser to Sen. Catherine Cortez-Masto, was killed in a car accident involving an undocumented immigrant. These issues affect everyone, Democrats and Republicans.

Harris has the responsibility to act, yet she has chosen to do nothing. Her silence and inaction speak volumes. Why hasn’t she acted to protect communities in the state?

The damage extends beyond the border. Under the Biden administration, the American economy has taken a nosedive, hitting Nevada particularly hard. In a state where the service industry is the lifeblood of the economy, inflation has made it nearly impossible for many to make ends meet. Nevadans are paying more for groceries, gas and necessities. The hardworking servers, bartenders and hotel staff who keep the tourism industry thriving are being crushed under the weight of higher costs.

In stark contrast, Donald Trump promised not to tax tips, understanding that Nevada’s economy thrives when service workers keep more of their hard-earned money. Harris and her allies, however, talk about economic recovery, but for whom? Inflation in the state is at 22.1 percent, spiking average household costs more than $1,196 a month.

Nevada has always been a land of opportunity for those willing to work for it. It’s a state that values personal responsibility and the right to pursue a better life. Its diversity is not just a talking point — it’s the essence of who we are. From the Latino families who have built vibrant communities in East Las Vegas to the Black entrepreneurs driving small businesses on the Strip, to the Asian-American families who have enriched Nevada’s cultural tapestry.

Harris claims to be a champion of minority communities, but actions speak louder than words. Where is her support for Nevada’s small businesses? Where is her plan to address the economic pain felt in our communities? Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. She has the power to act, yet she chooses not to. We cannot afford to sit back and hope for change. We must demand it.

To the Black, Latino and Asian-American communities of Nevada: this is your fight. Nevada has always been a beacon of hope for those seeking freedom and opportunity. This is not just about opposing Harris; it’s about standing up for what we believe in: faith, family and freedom. Nevadans want a future where children can grow up in safe neighborhoods, where hard work is rewarded, and where the government serves the people.

Harris is in power right now, and yet she remains silent on the issues that matter most to Nevadans. Why hasn’t she acted? This state’s communities have the power to make a change. Use that power to reclaim the promise of Nevada and ensure that it remains a place where freedom-loving Americans from all backgrounds can thrive.
